Ricavo was transformed into a quiet and comfortable Chianti country residence nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany in the late 1950’s.
Tenuta di Ricavo is a historical medieval fortified village with a small chapel and tiny cemetery, where the weathered stone cottages seem to have the magic to bring us back in time.
Sources in the Passignano Abbey report that it was already in existence in A.D. 994. Like all the fortified settlements of this period it stands on a rise in the land, clustered around a church, still today property of the Curia in Florence.
