Many underestimate their role and ignore the existence of this profession and the international association representing them called Clefs d’Or.

Members of this association are easily recognizable because they wear the Golden Keys on their blazer: 2 crossed keys are the symbol of the Concierges beloging to UIPA – Unione Italiana dei Portieri d’Albergo the national group which in turn is part of the UICH Unione internazionale delle Clefs d’Or ( International Union of the Golden Keys).

The association was founded in 1929 and counts 40 nations worldwide, representing the best professionals in this industry when it comes to welcoming Guests with a smile, courtesy, discretion.

Quando si viaggia tanto, si comincia a vedere gli hotel come una seconda casa, dove di certo è importante avere una camera confortevole, ben arredata, funzionale e con un letto comodo, ma è altrettanto importante trovare un ambiente che sia accogliente, con persone capaci di accoglierti e aiutarti nel risolvere piccole questioni ed emergenze.

Fin dal passato, negli hotel di livello è stato previsto un ruolo: il Concierge. E’ una figura che non tutti conoscono al giorno d’oggi e a volte tendono a sottovalutare, e in pochi sanno che esiste un’associazione professionale internazionale presente in tutto il mondo: “Clefs d’Or”.

E’ facile riconoscere chi ne fa parte, perchè il Concierge indossa un distintivo sulla giacca che rappresenta appunto le “chiavi d’oro“. Le chiavi d’oro incrociate sono il simbolo dei portieri d’albergo e gli unici a potersene fregiare sono i Concierges appartenenti alla UIPA, l’Unione Italiana dei Portieri d’Albergo “Le Chiavi d’Oro – Les Clefs d’Or” che a loro volta fanno parte della UICH, l’Unione Internazionale delle Clefs d’Or. Un’associazione internazionale, fondata nel 1929, alla quale appartengono 40 nazioni di tutto il mondo che hanno in comune un unico obiettivo: offrire ai propri ospiti la migliore accoglienza nel luogo in cui si trovano. I punti cardine che sono alla base di questi professionisti dell’accoglienza sono: sorriso, gentilezza, disponibilità e discrezione.

Noi siamo orgogliosi di poter affermare che il presidente “LeChiavi D’Oro” Toscana, Michele Paonessa, lavora in uno degli hotel del nostro Consorzio: l’Hotel Plaza Lucchesi sui lungarni di Firenze. Siamo andati a trovarlo e ci ha mostrato con infinita gentilezza e cordialità il panorama di Firenze che si può ammirare dalle duplex suites dell’hotel Plaza Lucchesi: l’Arno, il Piazzale Michelangelo (San Miniato), Forte Belvedere. O la vista dalle camere deluxe con balcone: Santa Croce, il Duomo e Palazzo Vecchio, Fiesole. Una persona che ha dedicato gran parte della sua vita agli ospiti dell’hotel, con passione e calore, e con una professionalità davvero d’altri tempi.
