Learn Creative Manual Arts with Antonio Davide in Tuscany

category events MarcoT 23 marzo 2009

Antonio Davide, an artist with an international exposure, opens the spring season with a course on terracotta pottery creation in Valdambra, Tuscany.

We spoke about Antonio Davide when the opening of his atelier in Tuscany was announced late last year.

The course is on terracotta sculpting and vase creating. Participation is in limited numbers.

The course is an exercise conciliating the body and the mind: the creation of a vase with bare hands as a means to express ones creativity – the opportunity to discover the pleasure of making things with our hands like our ancestors.

A unique experience in the heart of Tuscany, the opportunity to discover the creative side in your character you may not have known existed, the chance to learn more about yourself and your inner child .

Hotels Looking After Their Guests

category hotels MarcoT 3 febbraio 2009

To those of us who travel very much hotels become a second home. A warm welcome and that special care and attention make a world of difference to those who are constantly on the road.

More often than not, this is true also for the majority of those who travel the world exploring new places: a warm smile upon arrival, a kind word of courtesy make all the difference, break the ice and make Guests feel “at home”.

Hospitality is far more than a warm room and a clean bed, or a deluxe continental breakfast, it’ s about people caring for people.

Hotel Relais is a Consortium of 4 and 5 star hotels in Tuscany, our objective is to exceed your expectations. Luxury Hotels have long since recognized the need for Professionals with special capabilities at the reception: The Concierge.

Many underestimate their role and ignore the existence of this profession and the international association representing them called Clefs d’Or.

Members of this association are easily recognizable because they wear the Golden Keys on their blazer: 2 crossed keys are the symbol of the Concierges beloging to UIPA – Unione Italiana dei Portieri d’Albergo the national group which in turn is part of the UICH Unione internazionale delle Clefs d’Or ( International Union of the Golden Keys).

The association was founded in 1929 and counts 40 nations worldwide, representing the best professionals in this industry when it comes to welcoming Guests with a smile, courtesy, discretion.

We are proud to have Michele Paonessa, president of Le chiavi d’Oro Toscana with us at Plaza Hotel Lucchesi, a fine hotel in on the Lungarni of Florence and member of our consortium.

The Holidays are over and 2009 is here for (just about) 1 year !

This year will be just like the last one: more and more complicated as time progresses, so many events and appointments make our days intense and at time difficult to handle.

Gone are the days when families would pack up and leave for weeks at a time and forget everything, only to make a return completely re-generated after a long and peaceful break: today we are confronted with less and less time to ourselves and for our loved ones and subject to continuous disruptions coming from a mobile phone, Twitter, Facebook, and many other applications the web has to offer every single day under the sun.

But we need a break, we need breaks during the year to ease the tension and spend some quality time with wifes, husbands or “friends” …

Tuscany can offer the best in top quality and luxury accommodation and as my first post for 2009 I’d like to introduce you to the Hotel Byron, a 5 star luxury hotel in Tuscany a member of the Hotel Relais Consortium.
